Surekha Yadav becomes India’s first woman loco pilot of Vande Bharat Express

Between Solapur Station and Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Railway Station (CSMT), he drives the Vande Bharat Express. This new record was created on Monday in Surekha’s honor.

But even before this, Surekha served as a singular precedent. He was Asia’s first loco pilot. According to the CPRO of Central Railway Shivaji Sutar, Surekha Yadav will now operate regular Vande Bharat Express trains. At Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), platform number 8, Surekha Yadav was also honored for this.

Surekha Yadav personally thanked senior railroad officials for providing her the chance to steer the nation’s fastest train. Vande Bharat Express leaves Surekha for its destination at 12:30 PM on Monday, leaving from Solapur station at 6:05 AM. Yet, the scheduled arrival time was 12.35.

Appreciation of women power railway

Moreover, Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw praised Surekha Yadav, the nation’s first female driver, for operating the Vande Bharat Express. He also complimented the strength of women at the same time.

The railway minister wrote in a message on social media, “Vande Bharat: A nation powered by women. A female pilot is now in charge of the Vande Bharat Express, which is now traveling on rails.” The railway minister also mentioned Surekha Yadav as the nation’s first loco pilot in the same tweet.

In Maharashtra, Surekha was born on September 2nd, 1965. In the Satara district, he attended St. Paul’s Convent High School for his elementary schooling. He afterward completed an electrical engineering diploma. At the age of barely 23, she became the first female train driver in 1988.

For this accomplishment, he has also won numerous accolades at the state and federal levels. She also holds the distinction of becoming the first female loco pilot in Asia. Also, she is the nation’s fastest train, the Vande Bharat Express,’ and the first female loco pilot this time around.
