News ECG: In a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, nine opposition leaders, including Mamata Banerjee, claim that the BJP is “misusing” government institutions. In this letter to Modi, K. Chandrasekhar Rao, Farooq Abdullah, Sharad Pawar, Arvind Kejriwal, Uddhav Thackeray, Bhagwat Mann, Akhilesh Yadav, and Tejashwi Yadav have also brought up the subject of the number of opposition politicians under investigation.
In this letter, these leaders have also called attention to the Himanta Biswa Sarma issue. They stated, “In 2014 and 2015, the ED-CBI looked into the Saradha chit fund scam involving the current chief minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma. After he joined the BJP, there was no improvement in that instance, though.
The ED-CBI was keeping an eye on the Trinamool leader at the time over the Nagda case. Mukul Roy and Shuvendu Adhikari. But, after they enrolled in the BJP before Ekosh’s election, the matter stalled. Since 2014, cases have been brought against several opposition leaders.

Together with Mamata, these opposition figures have also listed Lalu Prasad Yadav, Sanjay Raut, Azam Khan, Nawab Malik, Anil Deshmukh, and Abhishek Banerjee among them. Some opposition leaders believe that their summons or interrogation is taking place at a “politically motivated” time or place.
In the letter, these opposition leaders stated: “Concerns regarding the impartiality of central agencies have been raised in light of how they have been employed since 2014. The will of the people is paramount in a democracy. The views of others ought to be respected. Even if they choose a party that disagrees with your views. That opinion ought to be honored in a democracy.”
Several individuals have also voiced their concern with Manish Sisodia’s arrest in their letter to Modi. It has also been brought out that the implicated are getting away with joining the BJP. Importantly, this opposition does not include a Congress leader, which is noteworthy in and of itself.
Interestingly, recent ED-CBI searches have targeted several opposition politicians. All of these occurrences, according to the opposition, had political undertones. Mamata Banerjee recently referred to moving Anubrata Mondal to Delhi, “Elections for panchayats are upcoming. And for that reason is a case being transported to Delhi?” In the meanwhile, the political community views this opposition letter as being quite significant in a political context.
