Modi inaugurates Shivamogga airport

The prime minister said that while the former airline was frequently highlighted as bad news under the previous administration, it is now taking a “new flight before the world in the form of India’s new capabilities,” referring to Air India’s expansion plans and recent contracts from Boeing and Airbus.

The Koteganguru Railway coaching depot and the Shivamogga-Shikaripura-Ranebennuru New Railway line both had their foundations set by the prime minister in Shivamogga. To improve the connectivity between the Malnad region and the Bengaluru-Mumbai mainline, the construction of the new railway line is expected to cost 990 crores.

According to a press release, the new Shivamogga coaching depot will reduce pressure on the Bengaluru and Mysuru repair facilities by facilitating the departure of new trains from Shivamogga.

A new bridge at Bharathipura in Thirthahalli Taluk on NH 169 and a new bypass road for Shikaripura Town on NH 766C connecting Baindur and Ranebennuru are two additional road improvement projects that PM Modi will formally reveal later in the day. Together, these two projects cost more than 215 crores. The prime minister will dedicate the upgraded Belagavi train station, which has first-rate amenities.
