News ECG: India’s wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant, who miraculously escaped a horrendous car accident on December 30, underwent surgery to treat ligament damage in his right knee. The Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital in Andheri West, where Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala, director of the arthroscopy and shoulder service, served as the attending physician, was the site of Pant’s surgery on Friday.
“His right knee had a two- to three-hour operation on a ligament tear on Friday morning at around 10.30 am by Dr. Pardiwala and his team. The procedure went well “the report stated. According to the story, the hospital declined to confirm the news, citing the patient’s privacy and the fact that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will issue a statement.

It also stated that after Pant was flown from Dehradun to Mumbai on Wednesday, doctors assessed his health and performed some preliminary health exams on him before the surgery took place on Friday, adding that it will take a few months for the left-handed batter to fully recover.
On December 30, around 5:30 am, Pant’s car was involved in a collision with a road divider and caught fire while traveling from Delhi to Dehradun. A horrible car accident took place between Manglaur and Narsan in the Haridwar district of the state of Uttarakhand. Pant first went to Saksham Hospital Multispecialty and Trauma Center before being moved to Max Hospital in Dehradun. He was driving his Mercedes from New Delhi to Roorkee, the city of his birth.
According to the preliminary medical report given by the BCCI, Pant sustained two injuries to his forehead as a result of the car accident, along with abrasions on his back, a ligament injury in his right knee, injuries to his right wrist, ankle, and toe, and ligament damage in his right knee. An evening later, a medical bulletin reported that Pant’s brain and spine MRI test results were normal. Pant also underwent plastic surgery, it was stated, to treat his facial wounds, lacerations, and abrasions.
The BCCI said earlier on Wednesday that Pant would travel from Dehradun to Mumbai by air ambulance in its second official medical update. He is being closely watched by Dr. Pardiwala in Mumbai, and the BCCI Medical Team will continue to keep an eye on him throughout his recovery and rehabilitation.
